Note About Scheduled Meditation

If you’d like to join us for meditation and have never sat with us before, please call ahead to arrange a 45-minute orientation.   We recommend starting with the Sunday program, when possible; it’s a good way to begin and to get a feeling for the practice and sangha at Windhorse.

Formal Zazen (Zen meditation)

Weekday morning zazen consists of 2 rounds of zazen with chanting. In the evening we generally sit for 35-minute rounds with kinhin (walking meditation) between rounds. On Tuesday and Thursday evening, dokusan (private instruction) is available with one or both teachers, and we end with chanting.

Please refer to the calendar for days and times of weekly scheduled sittings.

*On Sunday mornings we have zazen, chanting, and teisho (a Dharma talk by a teacher) until 11:30, followed by tea and an informal vegetarian potluck brunch (no food offerings required; we simply share whatever people bring).
